That’s right, nothing from Garrett’s Creeks’ domains can break through to the masses of China. Not the blog, not the home page, not thegospelfortoday.org. I assumed that any site with Christian content was probably blocked, but it turned out that asiteforthelord.com (brother Tony Denton’s site) ,livingletters.org (Spring Valley’s site), biblepattern.com (Fossil Creek’s site) and oldpathsadvocate.org were all able to break through! (I tried testing Bro. Risener’s site, but it seems to be down right now!) So this begs the question…
Why do the Chinese hate me?
Is it because I’m tall? …Oh well, I’ll continue beating down barriers here on the homefront!
So the moral of this story? No one out there who has an innate distaste for seeing two men kissing eachother is allowed to express such distaste in any way or else they will be labelled a ‘homophobe’. Most especially don’t laugh at such a reaction, because finding humor in basic human instinct is also frowned upon.
Next time a Muslim flies a plane into a building, don’t say anything about that either you islamophobic hate-monger… you know who you are.
Is it just me, or is this a little ridiculous? I wonder if a homosexual man makes an ugly face when they see a heterosexual man perform some sort of stereotypical ‘manly’ act, like letting out an excruciatingly loud burp, can we label him as a ‘heterophobe’ and let all the PC police make ugly faces at him for awhile?
God loves you folks, whether you’re gay or not. If you’re a sinner he wants you to repent. If you truly harbor hatred towards others, He does not approve. If you have a gut reaction toward something abnormal, God understands, HE MADE YOU! How far are we going to go with this junk? Being tolerant is one thing, trying to beat all of society into one mindless mold that simply smiles and nods at everything once offensive, is quite another.
Now with that said, how bout greeting me with a holy kiss (1 Thess 5:26) next time we meet, bro? :-)
Back in the wild west days, a California bound wagon train was lost and low on food. No other humans had been seen for days. And then they saw an old Rabbi sitting beneath a tree.
The wagon master rushed to him and said, “We’re lost and running out of food. Is there some place ahead where we can get food?”
“Vell,” the old Rabbi said, “I vouldn’t go up dat hill und down other side. Somevun told me you’ll run into a big bacon tree.”
“A bacon tree?” asked the wagon master.
“Yah, ah bacon tree. Trust me. For nuttin vud I lie.”
The leader goes back and tells his people that if nothing else, they might be able to find food on the other side of the next ridge. So the wagon train goes up the hill and down the other side.
Suddenly, Indians attack and massacre everyone except the wagon master, who manages to escape back to the old Rabbi, who’s enjoying a “glassle of tea.”
The near-dead man starts shouting. “You fool! You sent us to our deaths! We followed your instructions, but there was no bacon tree. Just hundreds of Indians, who killed everyone.”
The old Rabbi holds up his hand and says “Oy, vait a minute.” He then gets out an English-Yiddish dictionary, and begins thumbing through it. “Gevalt, I made myself ah big mistake. It vuz not a bacon tree. It vuz a ham bush!”
So the moral of the story? Proper translation is important. Many do not see the problem with studying and teaching from certain bible translations that are notoriously out of touch with the original intent of the writers. Let us take care not to let a ham bush become a bacon tree, it could mean the difference between life and death.
Many have taken offense to such passages as 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 and 1 Timothy 2:11-12. They find them to be sexist and unfair. But now I believe we can say unequivocally, armed with the above study, that God simply had our best interests in mind. We all know how verbose some of us (present company excluded, of course) can be in the pulpit, now multiply that by three!!! God designed the human posterior and simply knew we wouldn’t be able to bear it.
Thanking God for His practicality and wisdom, proven oft o’er and o’er
This is the type of hard hitting expose that you will find nowhere else. I recieved this press report this very moment from a very creditable source, read on!
I spotted this sign in the small town of Chesapeake, WV the other day:
People think that we are hardnosed for following the apostles’ teachings about women preaching in a public setting, but these people only even let the women in their church pray one day a year! …talk to these folks about hardnosed…
I hope I’m wrong about this, but I am greatly fearing for the church. This fear has set in suddenly, but has managed to take quite a grip. I searched for some church of Christ blogs and the great majority of them are simply diatribes about how we need to change all our beliefs in order to keep up with ‘emerging society.’ I am a part of society AND a part of the church, why have I not seen this great need to merge with society? What is with this great surge of liberalism and a seeming vacuum of conservatism? Read on –>
Whatever happened to those great pizza commercials anyway… but that’s beside the point. The Veteran’s Administration (VA) is in hot water over the slow processing of a petition aimed at getting recognition for the wiccan symbol (a five-pointed star within a circle) to be placed on the tombstones of veterans. The VA already recognizes some 38 symbols of faith and some very obscure and weird ones at that. Personally, I say they ought to approve the petition before they end up in a deadlock with a warlock.
